Breitling Navitimer Automatic 35

When it comes to pilots’ watches, there are few more iconic than the Breitling Navitimer. Launched in the 1950s, over the decades this famous timepiece has undergone a number of aesthetic updates and technical changes to bring it into the modern age, and this latest collection – designed for women – is no exception.

Slimmed down to a comfortable 35mm, the watch takes inspiration from some of the most important Navitimer models from the mid-century – in particular the Ref. 66 and the Ref. 806, recently revived by Breitling in a special limited edition. Its clean, three-hand dial retains many of the hallmarks of such classic pieces, including the signature circular slide rule, while a red-tipped seconds hand ensures excellent legibility.

The collection encompasses an array of sophisticated choices across both dials and straps. Elegant mother-of-pearl dials are elevated with diamond hour markers, able to be paired with sleek stainless steel, red gold and two-tone bracelet options. For a splash of colour opt for a blue or copper dial, presented on alligator leather straps in complementary hues.

Despite its more petite dimensions, technically the Navitimer Automatic 35 packs as much of a technical punch as its larger equivalents. It comes equipped with the Breitling Calibre 17 that, along with offering a power reserve of around 38 hours, is also COSC-certified, a mark of the highest levels of precision and reliability.
